I tried LITERALLY every diet out there and couldn't seem to find one that I saw the results I wanted and felt I could stick to long term and actually live my life. It wasn't until I started teaching cooking classes and really learning how to cook that I started to feel my best. And it was easy.

I then realized when I took the delicious meals I was making and ate them in the right way at the right time I was able to see even better results...

the backstory

I studied nutrition in college and after years of the "eat less exercise more" mentality I was burnt out. I had tried literally every fad diet and couldn't seem to get the results I was after. 

I felt like a total failure. If I wasn't happy with how I felt how could I help my clients lose weight and feel amazing long-term.

It wasn't until I left my dietetics internship and started teaching cooking classes at a holistic nutrition school that it all clicked.

It wasn't about a diet at all but instead creating a healthy lifestyle full of delicious real foods cooked from scratch. 

I dove deeper into that concept and paired those real food recipes with a understanding of what each individual needs to look and feel their best and A Healthy Passion was born.

“For anyone struggling with hitting macros, I can’t say enough good things about what a life-saver A Healthy Passion has been with helping me plan my meals. And everything is so easy to make and delish! I spend time on Thursday or Friday planning my meals for Sunday – the following Thursday and then make my grocery list. I usually just search by ingredient (fish, shrimp, black beans) or “low carb” or “vegetarian” whatever I’m feeling to get some variety and browse what comes up, choose a few and plug them into MFP for the days of the week. I typically plan my meals and snacks in MFP the day before or even up to 2 days before especially if I have leftovers I want to use up. Cooking Light also has great recipes and they’re easily found in MFP. When I started this program I tried to track macros on the fly and that just wasn’t working. Planning ahead is key even though I tend to be a little over the top about it! Of course, things come up but with a plan already in place it’s much easier to adjust for the unexpected.”

What is Carb Cycling?

Carb-cycling is a nutritional strategy that cycles high and low carb days to optimize your metabolism and support your body to burn stubborn fat and build lean muscle. It’s a great alternative to low carb and diets that restrict calories because both of these strategies lower your metabolic rate and negatively affect your hormone levels which is a big reason women find themselves at weight loss plateaus. For a short period of time, a significantly restrictive diet will bring you results, however, over time it will cause your metabolic rate to decrease. Once that happens you will see your weight loss stop and will need to restrict calories even further to lose more weight, thus lowering your metabolic rate once again. Not only is this a terribly unhealthy way to live, but it is also incredibly frustrating. So with carb cycling, you’re able to see results while also enjoying life and protecting your metabolism. If you want to try carb-cycling AHP will tell you what to eat.
